DNA Oestrogen Test
Approximately 80% of breast cancer occurs in women with no family history.
Oestrogen affects the function of a number of target tissues and research has shown that an increased lifetime exposure to oestrogen is a strong risk factor in the development of breast cancer.
The DNA Oestrogen Test measures 11 genes involved in oestrogen biosynthesis, oestrogen metabolism, and phase I and phase II liver detoxification.
This test also checks for gene variants that have been shown to have an impact on how oestrogen is metabolised.
Who should take this test:
– Women with a strong family history of breast cancer
– Women who suffer from oestrogen-dependent conditions such as endometriosis and fibroids
– Women considering HRT
– Women who have recovered from a previous oestrogen receptor-positive breast cancer and want to work on prevention
