Long Covid Nutritional Health Screen
Are you experiencing symptoms that have lasted after having had Covid?
The World Health Organisation defines long Covid as symptoms that start (usually) within three months of having Covid, last for at least two months, and can’t be explained by another condition.
Symptoms of long Covid can include:
Brain fog – difficulty with memory and concentration
Loss of smell
Shortness of breath
There isn’t one single test that can diagnose long Covid, so this is an important Health Screen that will check for the different underlying causes. Long Covid may be multifactorial with a number of different aspects contributing to your symptoms.
This Health Screen checks your liver and kidney health, thyroid function, blood count, heart health, muscle and joint health, iron levels, infection and inflammation, pancreatic health, vitamin D level, omega 6 and 3 ratio, diabetes risk and tryptase.
Included with this test is a 60 minute consultation with one of our highly trained and experienced nutritionists who will explain the results in detail with you to ensure you understand what they all mean. Your nutritionist will recommend any changes in your diet and lifestyle indicated necessary by the results to help to rectify any deficiencies found and help you achieve and maintain optimum health.
Long Covid Blood Test analyses:
Vitamins D: Important for your immune function
Heart Health: Cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides, D-dimer (checking for a blood clotting disorder)
Omega 6 and 3 balance: Good levels of omega 3 help to control inflammation
Inflammation: HsCRP (high sensitivity C-reactive protein)
Liver Health: Alkaline phosphatase, alanine transferase, aspartate transferase, gamma-glutamyl transferase, bilirubin, albumin
Blood Count: Lymphocytes, eosinophils, neutrophils, white blood cells, platelets
Muscle and Joint Health: Creatinine kinase, CK-MB, myoglobin, troponin-T
Iron Status: Ferritin, iron, total iron binding capacity, transferrin, transferrin saturation
